What is the difference between truth and fact?

Posted on Sep 2nd, 2008 by Tifster : Storyteller Tifster
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 02, 2008:

A fact is a small truth. A fact includes things like mathmatics, physics, and science. There are some scientific 'theoryies' that may or may not be true. And there are definate scientific facts and they represent a small true part of the bigger picture.
The Bigger Picture is what I think is truth. Truth, to me, is a word that is all encompassing. Some people may refer to personal 'truths' , but people change frequently and I don't believe there is one constant 'truth' about myself.
Big' T' Truth needs to be objective. One thing must be true for everything.

What does your horizon look like?

Tree_black_walnut
Across the street from my apartment is a black walnut tree. It is as wide as it is tall and this time of year it leaves are yellowing. The green grass below it is polkadoted with yellow leaves. I have started to see tiny green walnuts on the trees, so they will fall making black brown spots on the pavement and the road.
I believe, I have the best view on the street. Other people's windows look at the buildings and the lumber yard. But my window sees a large, beautiful walnut tree.

Have you ever felt super lazy?

Posted on Sep 8th, 2008 by Tifster : Storyteller Tifster
Motivation
Yesterday, I worked a ten hour day and today is my day off. Today, I have homework I need to catch up on and I am totally unprepared for my two classes this morning. So, I guess I am just going to stay home.
Yeah it may be lazy, but i am not a bad student. Anyone who works 30 hours and takes 15 hours of classes can get behind sometimes. Honestly, I could probably catch up with my work in about three hours if I get in gear.
I have always missed a few classes a semester for no good reason. I hardly ever get sick, the last time I did get sick was during spring break! I wish for sick days. I get so worn down by my daily routine that I would like to stay in bed wrapped up in my quilt. Maybe even make some chicken noodle soup, who knows!?
My husband even felt it a little today. He missed his first class, and he almost never misses classes. He normally is so studious and excited for his classes.
Does wanting some time alone, some peace and quiet, make someone a bad person. Will this one idle day prove to the world that I will not accomplish anything with my life!? I don't think so. I wish everyone could take a day for themselves. Maybe you could start reading a good book or finish your FF7 game (I am at the very last part :).
For now, I believe I will start on my homework so I can be prepared for tomorrow.

Who have you lived with the longest?

Posted on Sep 10th, 2008 by Tifster : Storyteller Tifster
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 09, 2008:

I lived with my mom the longest. From the time i was born until I was seventeen.
I love my mom, I call her all the time and visit often. But I am happier living with my husband. We have some problem for sure, but we mostly get along well and take care of each other.
My mom and I have gotten along much better now that I am away from home. We seem to understand each other more.

Who lived in your house or your room before you?

I don't know hardly anything about the person who lived in our apartment before us. My husband's entire family (at different times) lived in our old house before us. That was okay, but our old house was really old and run down. It was built in the 20's and moved from its original location to its current location. Don't ask me how.
Once someone came to the door of our new apartment and asked for someone who used to live here. Another time I got a whole bunch of mail from a previous occupant.
I really don't want people who live here after us to think of us. I think part of making your house or apartment a home is to make it your own. When i come home, I like to think of it as our space, and not the previous occupants.
If you do happen to move in here after us, I want you to know that I enjoyed living here. Living in our new apartment is so much better than our run down house with walls filled with newspaper and faulty wiring *not kidding*.

What have you learned about healing?

Posted on Sep 11th, 2008 by Tifster : Storyteller Tifster
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 11, 2008:

I do not consider myself a healer. I'm not even very good at forgiving.
My dad and I haven't spoken in a long time. At least a year or so. Because my dad would not accept the fact that my uncle made advances on me. He just simply would not believe it. He said that he wanted to 'keep the family together'. So I just stopped talking to him. Period.
Don't get me wrong, I deeply love my dad. Sometimes I cry thinking about him. But if I do talk to him, I know what will happen. He will try to get me to forgive my uncle. Seriously, he tried before.
I guess I not much of a forgiver. I don't consider myself a healer. What I have learned though, is stress can really make you sick. So I try to keep my stress low and eat good food. I have my more unhealthy habits, but  I try to keep them in check. I wish that I could heal other people, but I haven't reached that point yet.

What's the farthest you've ever been on your own steam?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 26, 2008:

I ran 14 miles at running camp during high school. I have the T shirt and everything. In high school, I ran Cross Country and I ran about 40-50 miles a week. I couldn't do something like that now and I don't think that I would want to. Because I ran so much in high school, I have bad knees and feet. I truly believe that within ten years, I'll will be walking with a cane.
I like to bounce on my mini trampoline now. It is good cardio and the impact on my knees is not bad. I recommend a mini trampoline or a big trampoline to loose weight and get exercise. It is so fun, you don't even know you are working out.
