Who lived in your house or your room before you?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 10, 2008:
I don't know hardly anything about the person who lived in our apartment before us. My husband's entire family (at different times) lived in our old house before us. That was okay, but our old house was really old and run down. It was built in the 20's and moved from its original location to its current location. Don't ask me how.
Once someone came to the door of our new apartment and asked for someone who used to live here. Another time I got a whole bunch of mail from a previous occupant.
I really don't want people who live here after us to think of us. I think part of making your house or apartment a home is to make it your own. When i come home, I like to think of it as our space, and not the previous occupants.
If you do happen to move in here after us, I want you to know that I enjoyed living here. Living in our new apartment is so much better than our run down house with walls filled with newspaper and faulty wiring *not kidding*.
